Mere words cannot explain the euphoria of the past few days… we knew we could get “friends and family” out – but yesterday, to look across the taproom floor and realize (occasionally) “I do not recognize anyone”… THAT is just a little overwhelming… any words to describe would fall woefully short – but we must start with “THANK YOU”. Some of the preliminary stats from the day:
- Opened at 2pm.
- 2 “serve lines” extended out the door at 2:17 (that’s when I got Eric’s text, whilst we were delivering additional kegs to the Downtown Craft Beer Crawl).
- The lines extended out the door non-stop until 7:25.
- 35 sixtels, and our 1/2bbl of “She’s So Hop” blown out (added with partials left, that’s over 200 gallons… with 8 pints per gallon… well – you can do the math.
- Thanks to the support from Beast Brewing Company, Sonoran (great root beer!), Sentinel Peak, and Borderlands (and the new tap law from last year, we did NOT run out of beer (but will only be pouring tasters next week, ok?wink emoticon just kidding… maybe…)
Someone asked if this is what I dreamed of happening… there is no possible way this could have been imagined… Thank you all for being a part of our dream!
Check out this great background piece that Morgan Kyrklund with Tucson News Now published about us, as part of Arizona Beer Week. Thank you for the great story!
Yes! The time has come, we will be officially opening the doors of Catalina Brewing Company on Saturday, February 20th from 2pm to 10pm!
We are so thankful for everyone’s support and energy during our journey, now we are ready to ask you one more favor – Please come and celebrate with us at our Grand Opening event!
In case you haven’t heard, it is Arizona Beer Week from Feb 11th to Feb 20th (www.arizonabeerweek.com). It’s a busy and exciting time for us to be opening, plus there are so many other wonderful events in Tucson will be going on. For us, we won’t be at the Strong Beer Festival but instead we will be camping, riding, and test drinking our beer at the Epic Rides 24Hrs of Old Pueblo this Friday the 12th through Sunday the 14th. During our opening, we will also have a booth pouring CBC beer at the Tucson Craft Beer Crawl downtown on Saturday the 20th. And there may be a keg of ours around town.. We are proud that this long awaited opening day naturally coincides as a cap to Arizona Beer Week!
CBC is located near Ina and I-10, just a mere 200 yards from The Loop Pathway, allowing you to drive or ride your bike to visit us. Indoor bicycle parking is available, plus there is additional secure parking in the back yard if that fills up. Ask about a discount on your first beer for riders. And of course military and educators will always enjoy a well deserved discount for serving our country and teaching our children.
There will be food truck(s), outdoor seating and games, CBC merchandise (maybe a door prize or two), and you guessed it – there will be CBC Hand-Crafted Bike Fuel on tap!
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday the 20th!
Come and celebrate Marana’s first Craft Brewery!
Cheers, and now back to Biking and Brewing!
Hank, Brian, Eric, and the CBC team.
